In spite of the wide acceptance of tattoo these days, highly visible body art such as tattoos done on the face, hands and feet can still bring ridicule to the wearer or may even cause them to lose an employment possibility. If the tattoo artists or studios think that the customer wanting tattoo on these areas are not yet aware, or if they are aware, not yet prepared for this kind of onerous responsibility, they will refuse to do it even if it means losing a customer. Although it’s true that said customer can still get what they want by going to less conscientious tattoo artists, at least the guy who refused won’t have the burden of knowingly ruining a customer’s future or even their life.

Reliable tattoo artists fully realized the true weight of sporting permanent art and want their customer’s to be pleased with the choice they make. It now becomes the duty of the tattoo artists to set the limit for their customer. Although, as mentioned these customers will always find some other tattoo artist to do it, but at least the customer will be forewarned and given a chance to rethink their decision. Face and hands are highly visible body parts that cannot be covered. Customers should realize that a tattoo is permanent and tattoos on these body parts can be a reason for being rejected for a job and there are still people who won’t “accept” a tattooed person in their midst, however popular tattoo art is.

For the hands and feet, most tattoo artist refuse to do a tattoo on these extremities, not so much for moral reasons but more about compromising the quality of their work. Reputable tattoo artists take pride in their art, when a customer leaves their tattoo studio, their name and reputation is on the line. Since hands and feet get the most amount of physical abuse more than any part of the body, maintaining the quality of tattoos on hands and feet could be rather difficult.
